Dr. Kaitlyn Voss PT, DPT
Dr. Kaitlyn Voss started her path to a physical therapy career long before she started attending physical therapy school. She played basketball and soccer in both middle and high school. One season she tore her MCL (a ligament in the knee). She was able to experience physical therapy from the patient's point of view, and it was at this time that her interest in physical therapy as a career began.
She graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL in 2007. While attending college full time she worked as a physical therapy technician in a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic. She enjoyed working with patients of all ages and being a part of their post-op recovery. During college she also enjoyed running 5K's for charity and participating in the Exercise Science Club. She was honored at graduation with the Trinity Christian College Exercise Science Department Award.
Dr. Voss earned her doctorate of physical therapy from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. During physical therapy school she participated in research opportunities and continued her love for running by participating in many local races including several half marathons and triathlons. She trained at the University of Illinois at Chicago in a rigorous clinical program which placed an emphasis on manual therapy for 12 weeks during physical therapy school. This has contributed to her love for manual therapy and a hands-on treatment approach and the importance of it in the rehab program. She also trained under former team physical therapist for the NFL team the Chicago Bears in which she had the opportunity of working with both high school and collegiate athletes in their return to sport.
Following graduation in 2015, Dr. Voss worked in a busy outpatient clinic in the Chicago suburbs and gained experience in treating foot/ankle injuries, lower back pain, knee injuries, and various post-op conditions for just over a year before relocating with her husband to the great state of Tennessee. She has worked in Cocke County since 2016 and this community holds a special place in her heart. Over the last several years she has had the opportunity to conduct clinical research, serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students from across the United States, and attend a running symposium focusing on treating the injured runner. She enjoys treating patients in all stages of life-- from babies, to athletes, to pregnant women and new moms, to aging adults. She also has advanced training in treating vestibular diagnoses. She would be honored to serve you by helping you return to the activities you enjoy whether it be competitive sports, lifting your new baby, chasing your grandkids, or walking your dog!
